Werribee Open Range Zoo

Werribee Open Range Zoo is just 35 km  west of Melbourne heading towards Geelong. The zoo is an expansive 200 hectares with some of Africa’s most iconic animals as well as other wildlife from Asia, North America and Australia. As part of entry you get a free safari tour which is one of the highlights!

The zoo has just welcomed four lion cubs, who are SUPER adorable. J and I spent a good 2 – 3 hours at the zoo exploring and checking out all that the zoo had to offer. It was a warm day, but most of the animals were out sunning themselves or relaxing in the shade. Despite being the weekend it wasn’t too busy, so it was good for a leisurely stroll. There are a couple of other attractions nearby (the state rose garden and Werribee mansion) but we didn’t get a chance to go there this time.

Where? Weribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee, Victoria
When? Open 9am – 5pm, 365 days a year!
